Educational, License Background, and Representative Clients: Admitted to the Arkansas Bar in 1998, upon earning his law degree from the University of Arkansas School of Law (Fayetteville) that same year. Immediately thereafter, Lance began practicing law as an associate with what is formerly Davis, Cox & Wright, PLC, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and what is now doing business as Davis, Clark, Butt, Carithers & Taylor, PLLC. Lance and his father, Walter Cox, opened the Cox Law Firm (now Cox, Cox & Estes) in August of 2000. While in law school, Lance worked as a law clerk and Rule XV attorney for the Prosecuting Attorney for the Fourth Judicial District of Arkansas. He was also a member of Phi Delta Phi Honor Society and Chairman of the law school’s Honor Council; and he was his law class’s elected representative to the Honor Council all three years. He graduated from the University of Arkansas (Fayetteville) with a B.A. in History and German in 1994, having passed the Goette Institute’s International German Fluency Examination. Lance is Arkansas Counsel for Kraft Foods, Inc. Other clients include State Volunteer Mutual Insurance Company, CNA Insurance Company, Church Mutual Insurance Company, First Mercury Insurance Company, Nabholz Construction Corporation, Sand Creek Engineering and Landscape Architecture, Inc., EGIS Engineering, Inc., Campbell Electric, Inc., Nutriment, LLC, and Advanced Monitoring Services, Inc.
1998-2000: Associate Attorney, Davis, Cox & Wright, PLC (now “Davis, Clark, Butt, Carithers & Taylor, PLC”). Primary practice areas were insurance subrogation, insurance defense, and general civil litigation.
2000-present: Partner, Cox, Cox & Estes, PLLC. Primary Practice areas have been professional liability defense (including medical, dental, legal, and engineering and architectural defense), and general civil litigation in the areas of business, premises liability, toxic tort, insurance, commercial and residential development and construction, real estate, materialman’s lien, agriculture, intellectual property infringement, and personal injury.
Miscellaneous: Lance has served as Special Circuit Court Judge for Washington County (4th Judicial District), and he has given continuing legal education lectures to professional engineers, general contractors, and subcontractors in regard to risk prevention and management, lien perfection, and general construction litigation.
Personal: Lance was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas, in 1970. He has lived in Fayetteville his entire life and is married to Brandi Cox (formerly Brandi Blackmon) of Russellville, Arkansas. He and Brandi have five children – Hayes, Asa, Katherine Allyn, Caroline, and Whit. Lance enjoys coaching travel baseball, Razorback athletics, trout fishing and hunting.
